Good Morning!!

Can you believe that today is April 16? Where has the time gone, its crazy. It could be that life has been so busy that all my days are running together, that’s ok I’m just blessed for everyday I am given.

I discovered something new this morning thanks to a good friend of mine, Simone. I had asked her if she got a message when I would post something, and she said it popped up on Bloglovin. I had no idea what this was so I went to explore it, and its pretty awesome. I can follow all of my blogs in one spot and it will let me know when something new posts. Maybe some of you or most of you have known about this but I didn’t, and it made me pretty happy! Go check it out, especially if you have a lot of blogs you like to follow! Bloglovin

Another thing I discovered this morning was Frosted Flakes and vanilla almond milk. I know that frosted flakes aren’t the healthiest thing you could have for breakfast but the sweetness from the cereal and the sweetness from the almond milk made a perfect combination and my taste buds were very happy! Try it sometime ūüôā

I recently was on Netflix and discovered that Saved By the Bell is on there and has every single season! WHAT!? Is this real life…yes. it. is. I couldn’t believe it. Saved By the Bell was one of my favorite shows growing up, so its been great to watch and reminisce¬†on all the funny things Zack Morris did. If you loved this show as much as I did and have the time and a Netflix account.. do it! Happy watching

Hope you have a great Wednesday! We are almost to the weekend. Thank goodness.

Better late than never…

Wow! I can’t beleive I let something so great slip away from me. I did not post at all in 2013. What!? I would see the tab sitting on my bookmark bar everyday and just didn’t take that extra mintue to click on it and share something. I don’t know why and I don’t have a good excuse, I just didn’t. The important thing is, I am doing it now….and it feels great!

I’m going to do things different that I did before for those of you that did stop by in 2012. Things will be less structured, and I’m just going to post to my little hearts desire whenever I feel like it. It may be about food, money, crafts, sports, clothes, work, running, complaning, or just about nothing, but I think thats how I want to try it out this time! I’m so glad that I’m able to do this and I hope that those of you that are still around enjoy the new Baker Nook! ūüôā Thanks again guys ūüôā

Let’s Have Some Fun in 2014!!¬†

Happy Friday everyone! Well Tasty Friday doesn’t really have the same ring as Tasty Tuesday, but here’s the thing… I don’t like to post a recipe until I’ve actually got to taste it. Last night was finally when I got to taste what I made on Tuesday night! It was DELICIOUS!

Since its fall I decided to try a fall recipe, I know some people don’t like cheesecake, but I promise you this doesn’t taste like cheesecake {more like heaven}

Pumpkin Cheesecake

1 can pumpkin (15 oz)

1 package cream cheese (8 oz)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

3 eggs

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup Original Bisquick Mix

1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (don’t worry I didn’t have this, if you don’t use 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon)

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 inch pie dish with non stick cooking spray.

2. In blender, place all ingredients except caramel topping and pecan halves. Cover; blend on high speed about 2 minutes or until smooth. (Or beat in medium bowl with hand beater 2 minutes.) Pour into pie plate.

3. Bake about 45 minutes or just until puffed and center is dry (do not overbake). Cool completely, about 1 hour. Refrigerate at least 3 hours until chilled. Drizzle servings with caramel topping.  Store covered in refrigerator.

This was so simple, and its honestly delicious {I have people who can vouche for that} I was also really excited because I got to use my new pie plate that we got for our wedding! Have a great day all, Happy Eating ūüôā

Happy Happy Birthday (a little late)

First birthday as husband and wife!

I’ve made it in this world 24 years; 288 months; 8,760 days; 210, 240 hours {really this doesn’t seem like that much haha}. A lot has happened in those 24 years, good and bad; happy and sad. Although I’ve been through a lot its made me who I am today and I am so blessed and thankful for my life. I take a lot for granted sometimes and I complain a lot sometimes and one of my goals for this next year of my life is to relax, and not take things for granted. I am a worrier, and I want to try to change that! ¬†Along with this in mind, I got the idea from a really good friend of mine to do a “25 before 25” list. Sometimes living in this small town can become sort of boring {although I love living here} so in order to keep myself motivated and doing this I thought this would be a great idea! Please find my list below ūüôā

  3. Do 3 Pinterest projects

  6. Start friendship bread chain
  7. Build my relationship with God by {never missing church, reading my devotional}
  8. Post on my blog at least 2 times a week the whole year
  9. Work out 3 times a week, 2 months straight & take Andrew with me
  10. Go on a random trip
  11. Sleep under the stars with my husband
  12. Do 15 Random Acts of Kindness
  13. Donate to a good cause
  14. Go to a comedy club or skit
  15. Send out Christmas cards to friends and family
  16. Try 25 new recipes
  17. Run a 5K
  18. Visit Kolbie in Dallas
  19. Send letters or cards to 15 of my closest friends and family
  20. Read 6 books
  21. Take my sisters somewhere special even for just a day/weekend
  22. Keep up with laundry for a whole month
  23. Make a monthly menu and stick to it for 3 months {only eating out 2 times a month}
  24. Go a whole week with no naughty words
  25. Save an animal and find it a good home

I really enjoyed making this list, and I know I’ll enjoy doing these things even more! If you have any ideas at all for random acts of kindess, recipes I should try, or books to read please feel free to share! I will keep everyone updated as I go along and complete items on the list. Have a great Tuesday! ūüôā

TGIF- Where Are They Now?

Fun Fact Friday

I don’t know if anyone has ever noticed {I know I sure have} but mid-morning to mid-afternoon MTV2 plays some of the best {classic} TV shows ever…Saved by the Bell, and Boy Meets World. I am more into Boy Meets World and I believe that I have over 100 episodes recorded on DVR. I mean lets face it, these shows are ten-times better than the reality TV that has now taken over our evening television watching {not that I don’t enjoy some of that too, entertainment right?} The thing is at the end of every episode of either of these shows, there was a lesson to be learned. I can’t say it ever stuck with me, but you always knew there was going to be a happy ending. Cory ¬†and Topanga went through a lot together and at the end of it all were married and happy together, Shawn got his happiness too. In Saved by the Bell Zack married Kelly and made the audience {finally} happy they were together. These shows taught us 90’s kids all about love, relationships, family, and friendships. We can’t forget FEENY! Ffffeeeeennyyyy! Too bad we never had someone who could solve ALL of our adolescence problems, right?

Anyway, everyday when I’m watching these shows I think..” I wonder what they are up to these days?” ¬†So I did a little research and found out! I thought this would be something interesting and fun for Fun Fact Friday! Enjoy ūüôā

William DanielsMr. Feeney! The worlds biggest problem solver. No not really, but he was very wise on the show and offered all of us good advice. If you’re a big a fan of Grey’s Anatomy as I am {can you believe Sloan is gone?} you’ll know that William Daniels is guest starring on the show working as a doctor {still offering advice and knowledge} with Christina Yang.¬†

Ben Savage-¬†played the lovable Cory Matthews in the series, and we saw the perfectly imperfect couple form of Cory and Topanga. ¬†After the show ended {sad day} he made a few movies and television appearances and has two films in post-production.¬†Most recently, he’s been in an episode of¬†Bones¬†and starred alongside Jane Seymour in the TV movie¬†Lake Effects.¬†He’s particularly interested in working on independent films and possibly¬†creating a sitcom of his own¬†at some point.

Rider Strong-¬†played Cory’s best friend Shawn. He still does some acting, but he also writes, directs, and produces. He was nominated at the Washington D.C. Shorts Film Festival for the Best First Time Filmmaker award.

Will Friedle- played Eric Matthews, Cory’s lazy but funny older brother. Now he mostly voices animated characters, including Terry McGinnis: in Batman and Beyond and Ron Stoppable in “Kim Possible.”

Danielle Fishel-¬†who played Topanga {did she have a last name?} disappeared for a bit after “Boy Meets World,” but she came back in 2006 as the face of NutriSystem. She then went on to host The Dish on Style Network in 2008.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar– ¬†Played Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell. After him and Kelly got married and the show ended he appeared in NYPD Blue and Raising the Bar. In 2009, he appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as Zack. He currently stars on Franklin & Bash and will soon show up on Don’t Trust the B-in Apartment 23.

Tiffani Thiessen–¬†After Kelly Kapowski and Zack tied the knot in 1994, ¬†went on to appear in Beverly Hills- 90210, Fastlane and White Collar; which wrapped its fourth season in September. She recently did a¬†Funny or¬†Die sketch¬†about why she doesn’t have time for a Saved by the Bell reunion <— ūüė¶ too bad.

Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell, said she was keeping busy with her new company, Yo Soy Productions. Now, her mom Tricia tells People that the former child star has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but she says she just fine.

Mario LopezAfter playing A.C. Slater, ¬†appeared in Pacific Blue, The Bold and the Beautiful and Nip/Tuck. He competed on Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars and has hosted America’s Best Dance Crew and Extra. He’s currently in talks to co-host The X Factor.

Elizabeth Berkley¬† Played Jesse Spano, she was always worried about her grades, and worried about being perfect. After playing the Bayside overachiever, appeared in Showgirls, Any Given Sunday and Broadway’s Sly Fox. Her 2011 book¬†Ask Elizabeth¬†is touted as a guide to teen life.

Dustin Diamond played Samuel “Screech” Powers for more than a decade. After starring on Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Diamond appeared on reality shows like Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Boxing 2. The stand-up comedian directed and starred in a 2006 sex tape {disgusting!!!}, Screeched, and released a book, Behind the Bell, in 2009.

Speaking of good shows..a couple of my other favorties were Full House, and Family Matters!

John Stamos¬†After playing Jesse Katsopolis, he went on to play Dr. Tony Gates on ER, and appeared on Glee’s second season, among other shows, and a commercial for Oikos greek yogurt.

Candace Cameron (Bure)– She played¬†DJ Tanner on Full House. She currently plays Summer Van Horne on ABC Family’s Make It or Break It. She also appeared on a 1997 episode of ¬†Boy Meets World and a 2007 episode of That’s So Raven.¬†Candace married hockey player Valeri Bure at the age of 20 and is the mom to three children.

Jodie Sweetin- After playing Stephanie, she appeared on Party of Five and Yes, Dear. She hosted 2007’s Pants-Off Dance-Off, starred in 2008’s Small Bits of Happiness and detailed her struggle with addiction in her 2010 memoir “unSweetened.”

Jaleel White “Did I do that”? Steve Urkel was always getting into trouble on Family Matter. Jaleel ¬†lost the nerdy suspenders and is still acting. You can see him as a talent booker in the movie Dreamgirls.

**I’ve changed the wording to meet my style but the factual info is from The pictures were found on google images.**

Sunday is my birthday and Andrew and I are going to finally get to spend some good time together. I love him so much and I’m so blessed that God has brought us together. Life without love would be pretty empty. Everyone has a great Friday! I hope you all enjoy this new addition to the Baker Nook!

Shinin’ on Me

Wow! I can’t believe its October already!¬†I really enjoy the Fall season. I love getting out my hoodies, and scarves and I like the feeling of being bundled up {but then again come Summer, I can’t wait for it, ha!}.

I started off fall with a not so enjoyable experience. I have to say I thought recovering from gall bladder surgery was going to be a lot easier than it actually has been. It’s amazing how much you use your stomach muscles, I mean really you use them in every single movement. My mom and sisters came to help take care of me, and Andrew was great. He truly is my prince charming {aawweeeee}! After a week of staying home, I started to go crazy. I couldn’t stand it anymore. While it was great being home with the furbabies and watching old episodes of One Tree Hill, I was missing the real world, not to mention actually getting dressed and doing my hair haha.

Finally after my long week at home, Friday afternoon I went to spend with Audra, the kiddos, and Dev. It was a great visit, and it was good to have Dev back for a while. While I was there Liv wanted to steal my phone and take pictures, and she really was into the funny face pose.  After visiting with them for a while we went to the homecoming football game til halftime, and then we went home, and yes I was exhausted.

Saturday was Whimmeydiddle day! Last year was the first year that I had gone, and I could only be there for about 45 minutes so I was pretty excited about this years, even though I knew it was going to be a little hard to get around for that long. Audra and I loaded up with the kiddos and headed to Scott. There were a ton of¬† people but it was still nice to be out and about! We met up with Barbie, Kathy, and Ashley and we had a good time. Later that night we {Simone, Levi, Audra, Bryce, and I} went to Elliott’s in Tribune for Simone’s birthday supper. It was so nice to relax and eat some real food and have ¬†a lot of good laughs! We ended the weekend watching the Chiefs suck it up BIG time at Jason and Nickies house, and making homemade salsa with Sonia. It was a great weekend, and I’m glad to be back at work. It’s nice to not feel so worthless!

Okay, well maybe it is maybe it isn’t…but I’m pretty stoked about it! I’ve finally done a lot of reading and testing, that I’ve figured out this whole blog thing {for the most part :P} I’ve done some “revamping” and will be adding new stuff to my blog throughout the weeks now. Fridays I’ll post something fun and most likely– totally random, under the TGIF¬†tab.¬† Some Fridays I’ll post a drink recipe that {I’d hope} you’d try for the weekend. I also started a TASTY TUESDAY¬†tab. Under this you can find everything categorized: Main dishes, desserts, etc. Everything will still be posted on the HOME page like always, but if your wanting to find something specific this will help you do that! If you have any feedback or suggestions that I could do for Fridays, or recipes {food, or drink} you think I should try then let me know and I’ll be up for it! Eventually I will have a crafts tab but that may not be for awhile. I hope this is easy for everyone to navigate, and that you all enjoy the new change!

PS- Did I tell you all that I drove a payloader? YUP! I did..and I was proud and my husband laughed at me!

Sitting with my feet in the breeze
Ain’t sweating the little things
And who knows what tomorrow is gonna bring
But today, the sun, shinin’ on me¬†“

Tasty Tuesday- Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Well the last time I posted you got a double dose of Tasty Tuesday, and I’m very glad I did a double dose. I had to have gallbladder surgery and wasn’t feeling very inspired {or hungry} to post last week. Hopefully y’all didn’t miss me too much ūüėČ Yesterday was my first day back to work and it was good to get back into the swing of things. It was a cool fall day yesterday so for supper last night we had chili, and then I decided to make one of my fall favorites Oatmeal Raisin Cookies {not to mention, it’s a good source of fiber!}

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup margarine (2 stick butters)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

2 eggs

3 cups old-fashioned oats (quaker!)

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup raisins (I used golden raisins and I also added chocolate chips to mine!)

1. Heat oven to 350¬įF. In large bowl, beat all ingredients except oats, flour and raisins with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended, or mix with spoon. Stir in oats, flour and raisins.

2. On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.

3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

This is a pretty easy recipe, but it’s one of my favorites, and I wanted to share it with you all. Next week I will try to do a meal or something that way it’s not always desserts! Everyone have a great day!
